When are Diamond Core Bits the best choice?
• hard granite • red river rock, • chert, • blue stone • or other extremely hard or ceramic type composites material. |
| Wet/Dry Carbide Core Bits are the best choice -- or -- best suited when: |
• Holes are required through layers of concrete, wood, steel, or other various layered composites. • Plate Steel or Rebar is encountered • Dry Drilling - when water is not permissible • Drilling through gummy materials such as asphalt, PVC, resins • Drilling in foundries in combination with Diamond Bits • Underwater applications for setting anchors or drilling in coral formations • When diamond bits spin out and a more aggressive cutting action is needed. |
Anything else I should know?
| Carbide core bits can be factory re-sharpened or re-tipped to extend bit life. | ||
| What about additional drill depth? |
| Additional drilling depth can be achieved with standard core bit lengths by removing cored material and adding bit extensions. | ||
