FORGED HAMMER IRON

Carbide tipped drill bits come in a variety of styles and configurations.  In the following sections we will outline the basic features found on carbide tipped drill bits manufactured today. 
This section is broken down into 6 basic categories
 
6. HAMMER IRON

Moil / Bull Points, Flat Chisels, Scaling Chisels, Clay Spades, Asphalt Cutters,

There are three basic tools for driving carbide tipped drill bits:

1.  Hammer Drills (SDS MAX ®, SDS PLUS ®, Spline Drive, Straight Shank)
2.  Rotary Drill Motors (Electric & Battery Powered, Keyless Chucks, Keyed Chuck, Drill Press, Drill Rigs)
3.  Rotary Impact (Impact Wrenches, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Electric, Battery, and Gasoline powered)
