The Fiberglass Pole Bits (solid core) are generally preferred when creating longer or deeper holes in composite materials such as solid core poles, cross arms, supports, and braces.  The amount of composite material debris created when drilling solid core product is greater than that of the hollow core poles and structures, thus greater debris removal is required or more fluting.  Fiberglass Pole Bits - Solid Core (FGS) are not recommended for hollow core poles and structures - bit whipping can occur in the air gap of the hollow core structure.  Possibly distorting the initial hole and hampering hole alignment.  For Hollow Core Composite Structures, poles, braces, cross arms, and supports - B & A recommends the FGH Series.
